Orbit Technology unveiled a new iPhone client for its Virtual Factory® product at the FABTECH Show in Las Vegas, NV on Oct 6-8. Hundreds of visitors were “wowed” by the ability to see 3D factory layouts (with zooming, rotating and panning), “Andon” status panels, and performance summary reports all on an iPhone. Event notification was also demonstrated by switching the booth’s manual stack lights to the red state, which would cause an alarm text message to be sent to the iPhone.
